A movie causes Protests in Iran
Perhaps all of you have heard--and some of you seen--the movie 300. It depicts 300 Spartan soliders against countless Persians circa 480 B.C.E. The movie is very patriotic at times, one character even says, "Freedom isn't free". The movie portrays Persians as ugly and dark creatures--not people--that are lead by a warlord drunk on the idea of world domination. Iran is saying the movie is "cultural and psychological warfare" geared at persuading viewers to dislike the Persian empire aka Iranians. Whether or not this is true is up for debate. What do you all think?
